Privacy settings

Location access is optional and is used only to find and sort nearby stations and center the map when you allow it. You can change the permission in iOS or Android settings, and the app continues to work without it.

Veðrið uses Google consent flows for advertising and, on iOS where applicable, Apple tracking permission. Ad privacy choices appear under More when available for the device and region. An active subscription removes ads.

Notifications are optional and are based on the favorite stations, thresholds, days, and times you choose. You can turn off categories in the app Settings or revoke the Veðrið permission in the phone’s system settings.

Bóla, the app-icon badge for strong gusts or LOKAÐ (road closed), is on by default and can be turned off in Settings. Bóla is independent of the allowed days and times for audible notifications.

You can change the language, number and order of nearby stations, screen-on behavior, notification thresholds, and Bóla in the app. The languages are Icelandic, English, German, French, and Polish.

Subscriptions are managed in the App Store or Google Play, where you can view status, renewal, cancellation, and payment history under Apple or Google rules.

We use limited usage, performance, and error data to see whether the app and website are working. We do not send raw search terms or precise location to usage analytics. Your browser can block or clear cookies and web storage.

If you send an inquiry through the website, it is forwarded by email. You can contact us about information related to that email correspondence.

You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or object to processing. Send a request through the website or to [email protected].
